Michael Pezzelle spent fifteen years with the Mesa Police Department with a focus on Gang Investigations and Fugitive Apprehension, developing an expertise in electronic surveillance, while working on specialized task forces with both the FBI and US Marshals.

Prior to retirement, Mike started Five Eight Group intending to pass along techniques learned while conducting thousands of apprehensions of violent criminals.

Five Eight Group has contracted Mike’s skills to outside companies, where he helped develop and support real time tracking software. Mike also taught classes across the United States, presenting more than eighty courses to the law enforcement community during a three year period. During this time Mike worked hundreds of cases, assisting agencies by using call detail record analysis and real time location information to find missing persons, locate fugitives and recover evidence.

Both prosecutors and defense attorneys have sought Mike’s expertise in Cell Site Location Information, leading to casework and testimony in numerous cases across the country. This casework has led to defendants pleading guilty upon seeing Mike’s presentations in addition to a successful defense during a murder trial.
